Venice is a city of magic, with its gorgeous architecture and waterways navigated by romantic gondolas. As I painted this piece, I was captured by the subtle nuances in color across sky, buildings, and water reflections. Thin glazes of pigment resulted in glowing clouds and reflections, while thick splashes of paint create dimensional texture and shadow for a painting that lives and breathes.
